Sermon Series: I Quit

The Winter Olympics are just around the corner when athletes from all over the world will be in competition to win gold medals. It takes months - even years - of preparation, sacrifice, and hard work. Athletes and coaches alike have a faith that all the trials will be worth it when they are standing on the podium to receive a medal and the acclamation of victory.

During these weeks leading up to Easter, may we discover a faith that will “result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed” (1 Peter 1:7). Let us learn from the Christians who persevered, Jesus who remained steadfast, and Olympic athletes who sacrificed countless hours of hard work demonstrating that trials, testing, and suffering will grow the muscles, skills, and endurance of faith. And may we count the genuine faith that develops as something “of greater worth than gold” (1 Peter 1:7).

Fed up with the status quo? The way things are isn't the way things have to be. Let's make this year that you actually quit those things you've been trying to put down for, well, years. Throughout the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus addresses 6 common problems that we should quit. Come see what happens when we're ready to say with God's help: "I quit."
